HISTORY

EXPERIENCED INSTRUCTORS Senior   Instructors   and   Dragon   Martial   Arts   founders   Mr   Jon Cole    and    Mr    Bob    Dhillon    have    a    combined    experience    of training    and    teaching    Martial    Arts    totalling    in    excess    of    50 years between them. Through    all    this    experience    they    had    spotted    a    gap    in    the market   for   a   child   friendly   system   that   involved   martial   arts based   drills   and   games   to   promote   fitness,   general   well   being and self defence techniques. That   became   their   starting   point   and   over   a   period   of   months a basic syllabus came into being. We    don’t    want    to    alienate    older    children    and    adults,    so    a syllabus   with   varying   levels   of   fitness   and   techniques   is   also being    developed    to    run    along    side    the    core    child    friendly system. The    basic    core    system    officially    launched    in    July    2016    and revised and updated over the next 2 years.

WHAT IS D.I.M.A.

A NEW AND MODERN MARTIAL ART Dragon    Independent    Martial    Arts    (DIMA)    is    a    new    modern fitness   and   self   defence   system   with   its   roots   in   Korean   arts   of Tae   Kwon   Do,   Choi   Kwang   Do   and   Pil   Sung   Do   with   elements of    MMA    and    other    styles    and    combat    systems    taken    into consideration   if   it   offered   something   we   found   beneficial   for our students and training. Our   primary   goal   is   to   make   martial   arts   fun   and   practical   for all   ages   of   student   with   drills   and   techniques   that   build   fitness and can be applied in real life situations.

A NEW MARTIAL ARTS AND FITNESS SYSTEM FOR ALL AGES Dragon    Indepenent    Martial    Arts    Club    (DIMA)        is    your    new    introduction    to    martial    arts    regardless    of    your experience of martial arts, fitness or age. We   utilize   natural   biomechanics   and   body   movement   to   allow   fast,   focused   and   practical   techniques   that   also work as a cardio and physical workout during training. DIMA   is   designed   for   everyone;   children   who   practice   our   art   are   surprised   at   the   skill,   power   and   speed   that   they develop and adults get a full body workout with practical real world application self defence skills.   We   invite   you   to   join   our   NEW   Martial   Art,   we   feel   confident   that   it   can   improve   your   life   in   many   ways,   from   the highest   level   of   self   worth,   confidence   &   empowerment   to   a   genuine   possession   of   unrivalled   motor   reflex   self defence skills.   Our new location is Oakwood School, Clifton Gardens, Hillingdon. Sundays from 10am starting on 18th March 2018.
TRAINING PROGRAM A MARTIAL ARTS AND FITNESS PACKAGE FOR ALL AGES AND SKILL LEVELS. Training for Health DIMA   is   a   holistic   health   system,   which   every   student   is   focused   on   living   a   more   productive,   healthier   and   longer   life.   Every student's   training   is   tailored   to   meet   their   personal   needs.   Sports   training   has   little   to   do   with   health   and   competitions   over stress the body with high-intensity workouts that overtax the immune system and cause injuries. At   DIMA,   individuals   can   train   from   the   age   of   five   and   enjoy   the   benefits   of   fitness   and   longevity.   Levels   of   intensity   and frequency and duration are all systematically developed for wellness. We   have   many   exciting   and   enjoyable   drills   to   develop   individuals   aerobically   and   anaerobically,   both   of   which   are   equally important. Personal, Social and Character Development As   people   grow   as   martial   artists   and   develop   their   skills   and   techniques,   they   also   grow   physically   and   mentally.   So,   the   value and   power   of   this   art   are   not   only   in   the   techniques,   but   also   in   the   development   of   personal,   social   and   character   skills.   In   DIMA we share a common goal: Health, Self Defence and Personal Development. Dragon Martial Arts Syllabus. In simple terms the basic syllabus is as follows: For ages 4-9 years -     Drills and 4 directional Patterns Self Defence techniques Pad and shield workouts Basic ground work Fitness training For ages 10-15 years -  Same Drills and 4 direction Patterns Enhanced drills and Patterns. Pad and shield workouts Ground fighting/grappling 1 on 1 sparring drills and bouts For ages 16 and older - All of the above and more intensive drills, ground fighting and shield work. More contact sparring/grappling and fitness. Our core principles: Knowledge Strategy Application. Knowledge.  We give you the knowledge through drills and training for multiple martial arts techniques. Strategy.  Building on our drills and techniques we train in how to apply our techniques to all situations. Application.  How to apply all of our training and techniques in real life. And each of these principles work in real life for all goals you may wish to achieve. Get knowledge, find a path (strategy) to apply the knowledge and form a plan to reach the goal. Simple as K>S>A! Its a circular pattern and self repeating. Once you’ve got to the Application stage you have gained more knowledge that feeds into your strategy and you application next time.
